Finally my 2016 open source project Terminal Trading Chart is live!
…I never thought I’d write those words.
Back in 2016, I started a small experiment:
What if I could visualize buying and selling pressure directly inside a terminal, using nothing but Unicode and ANSI colors?
The idea was simple:
- Green on top = buying volume
- Red on bottom = selling volume
- Thicker glyphs = higher volume
Using only three glyphs: U+2502, U+2503 and U+2588
But life got in the way. The project stayed in a drawer. Unfinished.
Until now.
Thanks to Claude and DeepSeek AI, I was able to finally bring this vision to life. With their help, the code is clean, the logic is solid, and, most importantly, the signals are readable at a single glance.
Today, I’m releasing Terminal Trading Chart as open source.
I never expected to feel emotional about a terminal chart. But seeing those green and red columns light up with real volume data… yes, it moved me.
I’m curious: does it move you too?
